We’re excited to have teamed up with Paul Robinson Partnership (uk) LLP and Munnings Construction to provide civil and structural engineering design and consultancy services for the extension and internal structural alterations to the Sixth Form Building at The Clare School in Norwich.
The project involved:
Extensive internal refurbishment
Safe removal of asbestos from the roof space
Removal of the original chimney stack and reconfiguration of the roof supports
Construction of a new gable-end extension to create a larger classroom, including the complete removal of the original gable wall panel and roof supports
Internal structural alterations to accommodate new toilet and changing areas
Installation of new accessible doors and kitchen areas in both classrooms
The Clare School, a specialist institution supporting students with learning difficulties, physical, medical, and sensory needs, is home to the Sixth Form Block, the oldest building on site, dating back to 1908. It’s been fantastic to witness the transformation of this historic building, blending modern upgrades with its original charm.
We are tremendously proud to have helped deliver this important project for The Clare School, collaborating with Kori Moore, Phil Munnings and Stephen Till to overcome the structural engineering challenges to deliver a more inclusive, accessible, supportive environment where the students can thrive.
