Waste Transfer Centre Appraisals
Ipswich and Lowestoft
Technicus Consulting was appointed to undertake Building Surveys of the Waste Transfer Centres (WTC) at Foxhall, Ipswich and Lowestoft (both in Suffolk). The reports were required by SCC for acquisition of the sites as part of their strategy for securing waste, allied to construction of the new energy-from-waste facility at Great Blakenham.
Our pre-acquisition Building Surveys utilised hydraulic platforms to undertake high level inspections internally and externally of the WTC buildings. These activities were undertaken outside normal hours, prior to public access in Lowestoft and after closing of the site in Ipswich.
The appraisals included all aspects of the built environment within the curtilage, including specialist equipment such as wheel washers weighbridge ancillary structures, roadways, hardstandings, fencing, bunding, ancillary office accommodation and welfare facilities.
The inspections were carried out generally in accordance with RICS Practice Standard ‘Building Surveys and Technical Due Diligence of Commercial Property’.
Detailed Schedules of Condition were also prepared for all elements to inform the Client’s decision with regard to acquisition.
Reports were prepared following further inspection of the subsequent repairs.
