Project Description

Horne & Wren Decommissioning – As-built Survey

North Sea

Technicus Consulting were appointed by ENG-CAD Ltd on behalf of Petrofac to provide a detailed as-built survey of the steel topside and jacket structure, prior to decommissioning.

The Horne & Wren platform located in the Southern North Sea, was a Normally Unmanned Installation (NUI) and tied back to the Thames Field complex. The platform is a skirt-piled three-leg jacket with topside.

Technicus Consulting’s brief was to undertake as-built surveys of the platform primary and secondary steelwork prior to lift out. Various modifications and preparatory works were completed prior to the survey using the jack-up vessel Seajacks Kraken.

Using original design and drawing information provided by the client, the structural modifications that were made over the platform lifespan were recorded and used by Petrofac for an up to date weight control study.

Technicus Consulting were able to undertake the work immediately, with offshore certified staff with experience in the oil and gas sector.
