We are thrilled to announce the successful completion of another interesting project at Technicus Consulting: concept design, structural analysis, and detailed design of an external industrial access platform for Hydrazine & Ammonia Fluid Mixers, part of a key UK nuclear power station project.
In this project, we collaborated closely with a local steel fabricator to create a suitable structural arrangement that adheres to road transportation size limits, ensuring the components could be prefabricated as subassemblies for easy on-site assembly.
The final framing arrangement comprised 3 no. deck modules and a separate staircase module, all supported by steel columns and bolted connections. Lateral stability was achieved via a combination of moment resisting bolted connections and diagonal bracing members.
Utilising advanced 3D finite element analysis and structural design software our skilled team of structural engineers ensured an efficient and cost effective framing solution was developed in record timescales in collaboration with our client.
