Central Co-op Opens New Supermarket Store in Stanton, Suffolk

Category: Uncategorized

On Friday 15th September 2023 Central Co-op opened a new Supermarket Store in the village of Stanton, Suffolk with a build cost of £620k.

Technicus Consulting was appointed to provide civil and structural engineering design and consultancy services to the original site developer (Sheppard Developments) at the concept design stage, and later the Principal Contractor (Horizon Construction Ltd) during the construction phase.

Our Engineers worked closely with project Architects, Paul Robinson Partnership LLP to develop this brownfield site which was previously occupied by the Tripp Batt & Co. Ltd garden machinery manufacturing business premises.  The old industrial buildings which occupied the site were demolished and the site cleared to allow construction of the new Co-op Store and 5 new residential properties to the rear of the site.

The store has been fitted out with energy efficient fridges and freezers and LED lighting systems to make it as energy efficient as possible.  Outside, electric car charging points have  also been installed to allow electric car owners to to charge their vehicles whilst they shop in the Store.

It is great to see the project has now reached fruition and the new Supermarket Store has been well received by the residents in Stanton, and wider community.
