Based at OrbisEnergy in Lowestoft, Suffolk, we are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Principal or Senior Civil & Structural Engineer to join our growing team.

This is an exciting opportunity to become a key part of a well-established and respected consultancy, working on a diverse range of projects from domestic alterations and commercial developments through to specialist offshore and energy sector engineering projects.

THE ROLE

The successful candidate will be involved in a broad range of engineering and project management activities, including:

• Structural analysis and design of steel, reinforced concrete, timber and masonry structures.

• Preparation of structural calculations, technical reports and specifications.

• Structural inspections, condition surveys and remedial works recommendations.

• Civil engineering design, including roads and drainage (where applicable).

• Project management from initial enquiry and fee proposal through to project completion.

• Liaison with clients, contractors, architects and other project stakeholders.

• Mentoring and supporting junior members of staff.

• Assisting with quality management, auditing and business improvement activities.

REQUIREMENTS

• Professional membership of the ICE or IStructE at Incorporated Engineer (IEng) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) level.

• Minimum 3–5 years’ civil and/or structural engineering consultancy experience.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong technical design and problem-solving abilities.

• Experience managing projects and client relationships.

• Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE

• Roads and drainage design.

• Offshore, marine or energy sector structural engineering.

• Experience managing and mentoring junior engineers.

• A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are required.
