About Us
Technicus Consulting Ltd is an independent civil and structural engineering consultancy, established in 2010 by Barrie Burgess, John Clare, and Barry Hipwell – three highly experienced engineers who first worked together in Great Yarmouth early in their careers. Their shared values, technical expertise, and vision for a client-focused practice laid the foundation for what has become a trusted name in the industry.
Over the years, the company has continued to grow, with key additions to the leadership team including Kevin Buttle who joined in 2012 and became a Director in 2023, and Kevin Dunnett who brought extensive offshore engineering expertise to the firm in 2013.
Today, Technicus Consulting delivers a comprehensive range of structural and civil engineering design and consultancy services across sectors, from simple domestic alterations to large-scale commercial developments and offshore infrastructure. Our reputation is built on providing high-quality, cost-effective and innovative engineering solutions tailored to each client’s needs, with a strong emphasis on clear communication, technical excellence, and practical, buildable designs.
We work closely with homeowners, architects, developers, and contractors to ensure every project runs smoothly from design concept to construction completion.
